About MISR Temple No. 213

MISR Temple No. 213 is a non-profit organization that unites men (Nobles) in friendship and community service while providing assistance and support (based on our established pillars) within our local communities. Nobles are members of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles Mystic Shrine, North and South America and Its Jurisdiction, Incorporated (A.E.A.O.N.M.S.)

Misr Temple No. 213 will award three scholarships to deserving students at the following levels:

1st place: $2000 (Noble John C. McDougal Award)
2nd place: $1500
3rd place: $1000

Guidelines & Checklist

MISR Temple No. 213 will award three (3) scholarships to deserving high school graduates for the current graduation year. If you are interested in applying, please adhere to the following guidelines:

Application Guidelines

Applicants must:

  • Be residents of Prince George’s County and prospective graduates of a high school within the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area that have applied and been accepted into accredited institutions of higher learning.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Submit one (1) letter of recommendation attesting to the applicant’s scholarship worthiness, potential, and character.
  • Submit a copy of their high school transcript.
  • Provide a one (1) page resume/brag sheet listing academic/school awards, community service, and sports activities.
  • Complete the online application package by May 9, 2025.

All finalists will need to participate in a brief Zoom interview with the committee on Tuesday, May 20, and will be notified of their award status by May 22.

Application Package Checklist

  • Complete the MISR Temple No. 213 Online Scholarship Application.
  • Professional Headshot.
  • High School Transcript with the first semester of the applicant’s senior year and cumulative GPA.
  • College Acceptance Letter(s).
  • Recommendation Letter: One typed, signed letter dated within 60 days before the application date.
  • One (1) page resume/brag sheet listing academic/school awards, community service, and sports activities.
